2010: Indoor: Ipsen recorded personal records in the 60 and 60-hurdles, long jump, shot put and high jump. He recorded his bests in the field events at the New Mexico Classic (2/5). Ipsen jumped 21-02 in the long jump and reached a height of 5-11.25 in the high jump. He recorded a throw of 37-09.25 in the shot put. Ipsen clocked a time of 7.47 at the Don Barrett Duals (1/30) and 9.08 in the 60 hurdles at the Potts Indoor Invite (1/23).

Outdoor: Ipsen competed in two meets during the outdoor season. His first meet was the CU Invite (4/10) where he threw the javelin a personal best 143-10. Two weeks later he participated in the decathlon at the Glenn Morris Multis (4/22-23) and took fifth with a PR of 5,017 points. Ipsen notched personal bests in the 100 (12.09), shot put (33-11.25), 110-hurdles (16.89), discus (91-11) and 1,500 (4:59.39).

2009: Indoor: Ipsen competed in one heptathlon during the indoor season, recording 4.052 points at the Potts Invite for fourth place. During that heptathlon, he recorded a PR and a first-place finish in the shot put. Outside of the heptathlon, he focused on the 60-meter dash, long and high jumps. His indoor PR in the 60 came at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight (2/20) when he crossed the finish in 7.63. Ipsen’s best long jump of the year was at his collegiate debut at the Air Force All-Comers (1/16) meet with a jump of 20-09 for 11th place. At the Air Force Invite (2/14), he passed 6-02.75 to tie for 11th in the high jump.

Outdoor: During the outdoor season, Ipsen competed in the 110-meter hurdles, 400 and long jump but concentrated on the javelin and high jump. He recorded a personal record of 141-02 in the javelin at the CU Invite (4/11) for seventh place. In the high jump, he reached a height of 6-03.50 for fifth place at the CSU Ram Open (5/9).  

HIGH SCHOOL: Ipsen was a member of the track and field, basketball, golf and football teams at Legacy. His golf team won the conference title in 2003 and 04.

ACADEMICS: Ipsen is majoring in civil engineering at Colorado and has been a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Todd Ipsen was born on Sept. 2, 1988 in Thornton, Colo. His parents are David and Ann Ipsen of Broomfield, Colo. He has one brother, Jeff, who graduated from CU. Ipsen lists basketball, snowboarding, cycling, mountain climbing and wakeboarding as his hobbies.
