2015-16 (Fr.)—Keating played as an individual in four tournaments during her freshman year; a pair of events in both the fall and spring seasons. She posted a 78.60 stroke average in 10 rounds and tallied five rounds in the 70s and one even-par round. Keating also recorded 10 birdies and 105 pars as a newcomer. Her best performance of the season came in the fall at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate where she posted a 221 or 5-over par and finished tied for 25th place overall.
High School—Throughout four years of high school competition, under coach Michelle Keating, her mother, Keating has earned one State Championship title, has two third place finishes in the State tournament and is a three-time Evergreen Division All-Academic Award recipient. She placed third during her freshman and sophomore seasons, and took home her first State title as a junior, which Keating highlights as the biggest moment of her high school career. She won the state championship after coming back from four strokes behind with only six holes to play. Twice, she has been named the Evergreen League MVP and she has earned medalist honors in 35 of 36 matches as a member of her high school team. In 2012, as a freshman, she and her sister, Alexis, (a senior at the time) helped lead Elma to its first High School State Championship in school history.
Other—Keating was part of the 2013 Junior Girls Golf America’s Cup in Albuquerque, N.M. and again in 2014, when the event was held in Walla Walla, Wash. She placed 78th at the 2013 USGA Junior Girls Championship in Fort Wayne, Ind. and 65th overall at the 2014 Junior World Championship in San Diego, Calif. Keating recorded her best career round in the 2011 Washington State Junior Golf Association District Tournament, where she shot a 72 on The Home Course in Dupont, Wash.
Best Career Round in Competition—72 (2011, the Home Course, Dupont, Wash., in the WJGA District Tournament).
Academics—Keating is an open option major.
Personal—Lauryn Raquel Keating was born in Olympia, Wash. on April 18, 1997. Her parents are Mark and Michelle Keating. She has two siblings, her sister, Alexis, who played four years on the CU women’s golf team (2012-16) and one brother, Spencer, who is a junior in high school. Her hobbies include reading, exercising and yoga. After graduation she would like to become a nutritionist or personal trainer, but first she wants to study abroad for a year. Keating decided to attend CU because it feels like her home away from home, she loves the atmosphere and believes the coaching staff will help her grow as a golfer, hoping to one day become a professional on the LPGA Tour.
