1997-98 – Collins did not compete for CU as a true freshman.
High School – Lettered three years in golf at Whitefish for head coach Terry Nelson, and the team was the Montana State Class A champion her freshman through senior years. She was an all-state and academic all-state selection her sophomore through senior seasons and, as a senior, was named the winner of Whitefish’s Kim Dowaliby Spirit of Competition Award. Collins also participated in soccer as a forward, and was heavily involved in the local skiing scene, spending three years on the Northern Division Junior Olympic Alpine Ski Team.
Other – Collins was also named the winner of the Mr. and Mrs. Ebeh Carruthers Scholarship Award while in high school. As a skier, she was named the third overall winner of the Bill Kennedy Ski Racing Award. Three of her high school teammates (Regan Peschel, San Francisco; Paula Nelson, Montana State; Kelly Foster, Cal State-Northridge) play golf collegiately.
Personal – Born Sept. 23, 1978, in Whitefish, Collins has plans for a major in kinesiology at Colorado, with med school or a career in athletic training her eventual goals. Her father, Richard, was an alpine skier at Montana State.
