1995-96 – Will be playing in her second year of intercollegiate competition after a successful summer on the links. She enrolled at Colorado in the fall of 1993, thus she has “three-to-play-three” eligibility remaining.
1994-95 – Will be playing in her first year of intercollegiate competition. She enrolled at Colorado in the fall of 1993, thus she has “four-to-play-four” eligibility (four years to play four seasons). Played in five tournaments for the young Buffs, with five of her nine (.556) rounds playing for the team counting toward the team total.
High School – She lettered four times in golf for coach Tom Bancroft at Cherry Creek where she was the co-captain of the state’s championship team her senior year (Creek also won the title her junior season). She was the No. 3 golfer on the team and owned a sub-41 stroke average for nine holes. She also lettered twice in swimming and once in volleyball.
Other – She defeated Assistant Coach Erin Hall in the finals of the fifth flight of the 1994 CWGA Match Play Championship. Hickel was an academic All-Big Eight selection following the 1994-95 season. She played in major amateur competitions for the first time outside of high school this past summer. She defeated teammate Erin Hall in the finals of the fifth flight of the 1994 CWGA Match Play Championship.
Personal – Born May 21, 1975, in Denver. Hobbies include skiing, and she earned an Academic letter her senior year in high school. She is undecided on her major at Colorado, but is enrolled in CU’s School of Arts and Sciences.
