Erin Hall
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
When head coach Justi Miller was scouring the University of Colorado for players for the inaugural women’s golf team, the first stop she made was at the doorstep of Colorado Springs native Erin Hall. Hall responded by quickly becoming a mainstay of the fledgling Buffaloes, emerging as the team’s second-leading scorer and the provider of invaluable leadership and support, all integral components in Colorado’s successful drive to launch the women’s golf program. Now, one year later, Miller has once again turned to Hall, 23, for assistance, this time as a partner in the coaching ranks.
Hall, who served as the team’s first-ever captain in 1994-95, will be a first-year assistant coach in 1995-96. She was Colorado’s top performer in four of the nine tournaments in which she saw action, and in a team-high 19 of 20 tournaments rounds her scores counted toward the team total. She looks to continue that success at Colorado as she makes the transition from understudy to mentor.
“It will be a tremendous challenge and I can’t wait to get started,” Hall said of her new post. “This is an incredible team, facing incredible opportunities and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
And Miller, for her own part, likes what she sees in Hall the coach.
“Erin is a great choice for assistant coach because she just went through the experience of being a collegiate golfer,” Miller said. “She can give our young players knowledge to be patient through their first year as well as lead them through the ropes. Additionally, Erin is incredibly enthusiastic about golf and practicing, which can only help to spurt on our players to work harder and enjoy the game.”
Hall was a standout athlete for Wasson High school in Colorado Springs, lettering in three sports, including once in golf as a senior. She also earned three letters in basketball (guard) and tennis (No. 2 singles). She earned all-Southern League honors as a junior and senior in both basketball and tennis, and finished third in the 1990 district tennis meet.
Born Sept. 5, 1972, in Colorado Springs, Hall graduated form CU in May of 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She attended Colorado on the full-ride Eisenhower/Evans Scholarship, a program of the Western Golf Association that recognizes excellence in golf and golf-related fields. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, running and skiing.
