High School: A four-year letterwinner at Cherry Creek under head coach Tom Bancroft, Creek has been the Centennial League champions since 1998 and the 5A state runners-up her freshman through junior seasons. Garehime was an honorable mention all-state player her junior year and she had five top-10 tournament finishes, including an individual title at the Smoky Hill Centennial League Tournament when she shot a 5-over 77. Since sprint of '99 she has had 19 top-10 finishes with titles in the PGA Maxfli Junior Qualifier, IIAJC Qulifier, two CJGA Mini Tours and the Legacy Ridge win. As a sophomore she had a top-10 state tournament finish, playing in Grand Junction, finished sixth in CWGA Junior Match Play and eighth in CWGA Junior Stroke Play. Her national competition included a trip fo Lawrence, Kan., to play in the AJGA Lucent Girls Junio Championship where she finished in the top third of the field. Her career-low finish is a sixth-place effort on Westminster's Legacy Ridge G.C. during an AJGA tournament last summer. She will also bring a career-low round 74 into Boulder.

Personal: Margaret Elder Garehime was born on Jan. 26, 1983, in Chicago. She is the daughter of William and Amy Garehime of Englewood and the younger sister of Billy who is attending the University of Colorado at Denver and the older sister of Chris, who is a sophomore on Cherry Creek's boys' golf team. Her paternal grandfather, Donavon Garehime, attended CU fro 1938-42. She chose CU after official visits to Colorado State and Kansas. "I really liked CU and didn't see any reason to leave the state."

In The Classroom: Garehime currently carries a 3.3 GPA nad is interested in studying biology at CU and continuing her golf career after college.
