SENIOR (2017): The all-time points leader for the Buffs did not let up her senior year; the attacker played in 18 games where she scored three or more goals in 11 games. Fusco had 60 points (50 goals, 10 assists), took 139 shots with 92 on goal, and converted on 21 out of 53 free position shots. She also tallied 25 groundballs, 37 draw controls and caused 10 turnovers. The senior led the team in free position goals, shots and shots on goal, had the second most points and goals, was third for draw controls and was fifth for assists and groundballs. She was fifth in the MSPF for goals per game (2.78) and her average 1.17 free position goals per game led the MPSF and ranked fourth in the nation. She was nationally ranked sixth and 19th for shots per game and shots on goal per game, respectively (7.72 and 5.11). In the season opener against No. 9 Northwestern on Feb. 12, Fusco scored a goal and assisted two, her second assist was to win the game in overtime and give the Buffs their first victory against a ranked team. Fusco had a hat-trick in the next game against No. 16 Massachusetts on Feb. 17; she went 2-4 on free position shots and added a groundball, draw control and caused turnover in the 11-7 win. Fusco recorded five points (four goals, one assist) against UC Davis on Feb. 26 and also had a season-high six draw controls. In the win over No. 14 Denver on March 3, Fusco amassed a season-high seven points (five goals, two assists); which was the first of her three five-goal games that season. The attacker helped the Buffs finish out the weekend with a win over Marquette on March 5 with four goals, one assist, one groundball and three draw controls. For her weekend performances over DU and MU, she was named Alpha Lacrosse National Player of the Week, MPSF Offensive Player of the Week and CU Female Athlete of the Week. Fusco was a focal point of Colorado’s fast-paced offense, who only had two games without a goal. She had a standout game against conference rival Stanford on April 8, where she tallied four goals, two groundballs, two draw controls and one caused turnover in the 13-8 victory. Fusco continued to produce offensively for the Buffs, scoring another five goals in the win over San Diego State on April 16; she added an assist, three groundballs and two caused turnovers on the day. In the MPSF Tournament Championship against USC on April 30, Fusco scored four goals, all from free position shots. The senior earned All-MPSF Second Team and IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Second Team selections as well as MPSF-All Tournament honors.
 
JUNIOR (2016): Fusco continued to be a major factor for the Buffaloes up and down the field, earning second-team all-MPSF. She played in 16 games with 14 starts as an attacker, scoring 33 goals with 11 assists for 44 points. She also had 90 shot attempts, including 56 on goal and two game-winning goals. Fusco finished the year 14-for-25 on free-position shots and also added 18 ground balls, 15 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers. She led the team in shot attempts and free-position goals, was second in points, goals and shots on goal, third in assists and game-winning goals, and fourth in draw controls. She ranked second in the MPSF and ninth nationally in free-position goals per game (0.88); third in the MPSF and 20th nationally in free-position percentage (.560); fifth in the MPSF and 97th nationally in goals per game (2.06); sixth in the MPSF and 124th nationally in points per game (2.75); and ninth in the MPSF and 146th nationally in total goals scored. She had two goals at No. 7/6 Notre Dame before catching fire for three games. Fusco scored four goals in three consecutive games Feb. 28 at Marquette, March 3 against James Madison and March 21 against Marist—all wins. She broke the school record for fastest consecutive goals by the same player, scoring twice in nine seconds (26:01 and 25:52 of the first half) at Marist. She also had a season-high six ground balls against Marquette and added two draw controls and a caused turnover. She attempted a season-high 12 shots, assisted on another goal, and had three draw controls and three ground balls in an overtime win over JMU. In her final game of the streak, she contributed two assists for a season-high six points. Fusco netted a hat trick and had an assist for four points in a 14-3 win at UC Davis on 10 shot attempts on April 1. She scored three times again against No. 7/6 Southern California on April 8 and then had four goals again in a 16-3 win over San Diego State on April 10. For her efforts, she was named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week on April 11. Fusco found the net three times in a 16-4 win over California on April 17 and wrapped up the regular season with a pair of goals and assist for four points in a win at Oregon. She scored two more times against Oregon in the quarterfinals of the MPSF Tournament.
 
SOPHOMORE (2015): In her second season as a Buff, Fusco continued to dominate the field. She led the team in shots with a total of 101 and shots on goal (80), turning 44 of those into goals. She earned 52 points and had a total of 21 free-position goals, making her the leader of the team in that category. Fusco started in every game in the 2015 season, scoring at least one goal in all 18 contests. By the end of the season, she earned a spot on the All-MPSF First Team. She opened the season with three goals on seven shots against No. 19 Denver on Feb. 11. She then had back-to-back four-goal games in wins over Marquette and Presbyterian, including two assists for a season-high six points against MU on Feb. 14. Fusco scored three times at No. 7 Northwestern on March 7. After scoring one goal and adding three ground balls in a 10-9 win over New Hampshire, she had another multi-goal game, scoring twice in a 14-13 double-overtime victory at Michigan. She had her third four-goal game of the season at No. 2 Boston College on March 25, with all four coming as free-position goals. Fusco then helped the Buffs to a 17-7 win at UMass Lowell with three goals, before her final four-goal game of the season in a win over UC Davis on April 3. She had another strong match in a tight 16-14 loss to No. 13 Stanford with a season-high eight draw controls, three goals and one assist on April 5. She scored twice at Southern California and scored three goals in wins over Fresno State (April 24) and San Diego State (April 30, MPSF Tournament first round). Fusco also scored game-winning goals against San Diego State (April 12) and Fresno State. Her six ground balls in a win over Oregon on April 26 were a season high. For the season, she totaled 48 draw controls to finish second on the team and had 19 ground balls. Fusco had 15 multi-point games, 12 multi-goal games and two multi-assist games.
 
FRESHMAN (2014): Fusco was the most dominant offensive force for the Buffs. She led the team in points (62), goals (45), shots attempted (95) and shots on goal (77), tied for the lead in free-position goals (12) and assists (17), ranked second in ground balls (33) and draw controls (50) and fourth in caused turnovers (12). She ranked in the MPSF top six in goals, free-position goals, points and shots per game and game-winning goals (three). Fusco scored in all but two of her 18 games played (15 starts), picking up five hat tricks and scoring four or more goals in four other games. She had six or more points in six games and two or more assists in five. Fusco holds the top three spots on the CU single game list for shots, taking seven or more in seven different games. Fusco was a three-time MPSF Rookie of the Week honoree (earning the title more than any other newcomer), claiming the title in both the first and last weeks of the regular season. She earned her first ROW title after the Buffs’ inaugural weekend. Against Stetson and Jacksonville, she led the Buffs with nine points off five goals and four assists. She got her second title after working as a key piece to CU’s late comeback against Brown. Through the Bears claimed the victory, Fusco scored four goals, all coming during CU’s 8-1 run in the final 12:30 of the game. Fusco won the final title of the season for recording a game-high six points off of five goals and an assist in CU’s sudden victory over Oregon. She also had a team-high five draw controls and added a ground ball and a caused turnover. Fusco set CU single game records against UC Davis, with eight points, off five goals and three assists, and 13 shots. Fusco continued to shine in the postseason, scoring five goals, adding three assists and winning three draws, helping the Buffs to the MPSF Tournament semifinal and earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Fusco was a two-time All-American and a four-year letter-winner at Lassiter. She set all-time school records with 177 goals, 163 assists, 340 points and 310 groundballs. In her first two seasons alone, she had already broken into the top 10 in Lassiter’s career record books in goals and points. She helped lead the Lady Trojans to a 78-12 record in her four seasons, including a state runner-up finish her freshman and senior seasons and a quarterfinal berth as a sophomore. Her senior year, she recorded 48 goals and 71 assists, helping her to the 2013 Marietta Daily Journal/Cobb County Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year title. She was a back-to-back first-team all-state honoree her final two seasons, also earning second-team and honorable mention honors as a sophomore and freshman, respectively. Fusco was also a four-year letter-winner for Lassiter’s cheer squad. 

IN THE CLASSROOM: Fusco is a communication major.

PERSONAL: Johnna Elizabeth Fusco was born on June 26, 1994, in Atlanta, Ga. Her parents are Anthony and Maribeth Fusco. Her father works in professional claims, and her mother is a teacher. She lists the biggest moment of her prep career as beating Chattahoochee by one point in the state semi-finals to earn a spot the championship match her freshman season.
