SENIOR (2019): Shymka completed her senior season by playing in all 22 of the Buffs’ matches, starting in 16 of them…She scored her lone goal in the first round of the NCAA tournament to help solidify the 6-0 win over Northern Colorado…She also contributed two assists this season in her career high 1,193 minutes played…Shymka fired 13 shots, seven on goal and earned herself the Strength and Condition Award from the team awards. 

JUNIOR (2018): Shymka played in nine matches for the Buffs. She scored her lone goal of the season in CU’s 6-0 win over Oregon State. Shymka totaled four shots on goal in 88 total minutes. She played a season-high 24 minutes at Oregon State.

SOPHOMORE (2017): Shymka recovered from ACL surgery to help the Buffs reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament and break school records for shutouts (14) and goals-against average (0.61). She appeared in 20 matches and made one start in 2017, scoring on goal and assisting on another during the campaign. She also had nine shot attempts, including four on goal. She scored her only goal of the second in a 6-1 win at Denver on Sept. 16 in 44 minutes of action. Shymka earned her only start of the season at Utah on Nov. 3 and assisted on Megan Massey’s 12th-minute goal in a 2-0 victory. Throughout the season, CU outscored its opponents 4-2 in Shymka’s 448 minutes of action as the team posted a 0.40 GAA in that time.
 
FRESHMAN (2016): Shymka was a key contributor to Colorado reaching the NCAA Tournament and finishing second in the Pac-12. She saw action in 15 matches with two starts at forward and scored one goal and had two assists. She also attempted 25 shots, including 15 on goal. She netted her first career goal in the 66th minute of a 4-1 win over Iowa on Sept. 11. She had assists on Sept. 4 in a 5-0 win over Drexel and on Oct. 14 in a 2-1 win over Washington. Shymka suffered a season-ending knee injury against Washington.
 
CLUB TEAM: She is a member of Canada’s U-20 women’s soccer team and competed with current CU player Sarah Kinzner at the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, helping Canada to a silver medal. She played for Alberta Soccer for five years and was named to the Alberta all-star team. While playing for South West United Premiers, she led her team to the Canadian National Club Championship four years in a row and medaled each time (2012-15). In 2012, Shymka earned the Canadian National Club Championship Golden Boot Award. With South West United Premiers, she was coached by Nick Koev and Ramon Mifflin.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: She graduated from Robert Thirsk High School in Calgary, Alberta.

IN THE CLASSROOM: She is majoring in marketing in the Leeds School of Business.

PERSONAL: She was born Camilla Shymka on May 5, 1998, in Calgary, Alberta. She is the daughter of Michael and Katharine Shymka and has an older brother named James, who also played soccer. She is very interested in the world of business and all it has to offer. In her spare time, she enjoys figure skating, playing tennis and reading. Shymka was a competitive figure skater until age 14.
