  • Key contributor to the development of CU goalkeepers Jalen Tompkins and Jordan Nytes. Tompkins set CU records in wins (49), saves (369) and save percentage (.841). Nytes won two Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year awards and was a First Team All-American in 2026 
  • Helped coach the team to a record 14 shutouts in 2017 
  • Aided CU in its best defensive season in school history in 2017 as the team broke the records for goals-against average (0.61), shutouts (14) and longest shutout streak (621:10) 
  • Coached CU keepers to 115 career shutouts since 2012 
  • CU posted a school-record six consecutive shutouts to open the 2017 season 

 Prior to Colorado 

  • Spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Wyoming 
  • Posted a 36-34-11 record at Wyoming 
  • Helped the Cowgirls to a school-record 12 wins and their first ever spot in the MWC Tournament championship in 2011 
  • Also coached with Sanchez at Mesa Community College  
  • Has also coached Skyline High School (Mesa, Ariz.) and Chandler High School (Ariz.) 
  • Was Region Coach of the Year at both high schools and won three straight NSCAA National Academic Awards at Chandler 

Education 

  • Played at Mesa C.C. under Sanchez where they were ranked as high as second in the nation 
  • Transferred to Grand Canyon, helping the team to No. 2 national ranking 
  • Earned his bachelor’s in physical education from Ottawa (Ariz.) University in 2003 and completed his master’s in physical education from Arizona State in 2008
