Redshirt Senior (2003):  Hawkins played in eight games with one start as a defender. She saw 228 minutes of action and helped the Buffs reach the NCAA Tournament and win the regular-season Big 12 championship. Hawkins played a season-high 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over No. 22 Nebraska on Oct. 31, her lone start of the season.

Senior (2002): Redshirt. Did not play due to a torn ACL suffered in the first weeks of preseason drills.

Junior (2001):  A change in coaching philosophies was obvious as Hawkins had 15 starts as a junior compared to two as a sophomore.  She was an Academic All-Big 12 pick following the season. 

Sophomore (2000):  Hawkins didn't see any action until the Nebraska game (Oct. 20) where she earned the first start and first game action of her career against the then-No. 4 Huskers.  She returned home two days later for the Iowa State game, which she also started. 

High School:  A four-year letterwinner at Highlands Ranch, Hawkins was a three-time all-Continental League selection.  As a senior, Hawkins was first-team all-league, leading the Falcons to their first-ever Continental League title over rival Arapahoe as team captain.  Her junior year, Hawkins was a second-team all-league honoree, while also serving as team captain for her club team, Real Colorado.  As a sophomore, Hawkins was an honorable mention Continental League selection as the Falcons reached the state quarterfinals.  Highlands Ranch reached the state semifinals Hawkins' freshman year. 

In The Classroom:  A three-time Dean's List member, Hawkins has spent the last four semesters bettering the 3.0 gpa mark, including a 2001 in-season 3.394 and '02 in-season Dean's List effort (3.675) while attending daily practice in addition to rehabilitation treatments.  During the spring '02 semester, she studied abroad in Alicente, Spain and turned in a 3.771 Dean's List effort. 

Personal:  Born Aug. 4, 1980 in Englewood, Colo., Heather Michelle Hawkins is the daughter of Doug and Judy Hawkins.  She enjoys the outdoors in her free time, in addition to traveling and attending the theatre.
