HEMPEN ON MENACHOF: Kelly is a very talented player, and put in the right spot with the right players, she could have a breakout year.
 
SENIOR (2009): Menachof played in all 19 of CU’s games and started 15. She tallied one goal and two assists for four points on the season. Menachof started the game against Iowa State hard scoring her first goal of the season only 4:17 into the game. Her goal became the game-winning goal in CU’s 1-0 battle with the Cyclones. She dished out an assist on Quinn Krier’s goal against St. Mary’s and one of Nikki Marshall’s goals during the 5-1 win over Oklahoma. 
 
JUNIOR (2008):  In her first season at Colorado, Menachof immediately entered the starting lineup in the midfield and started 21 of the 22 games she played in, only missing one match due to a pre-game injury.  Menachof's first goal in a CU jersey came in the 4-0 win over James Madison, and then she added a two-goal effort in the 4-0 win at Baylor.  Her six total points tied her as the eighth leading scorer on the team.

AT CALIFORNIA: Menachof stood out as one of the top freshmen in the Pac-10 in 2006 as she was named to the first ever Pac-10 All-Freshman team.  She netted three goals in her freshman campaign and was named CAL Freshman of the Year.  As a sophomore, she played in 14 games and finished the season with one goal and one assist.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Menachof lettered four years at Arapahoe High School and was a three-time First Team All-League selection.  She was Second Team All-State in 2003 and 2004 and was a First Team All-State selection as a senior in 2005.  Menachof was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2003 Colorado State Championship game after netting three goals and an assist for Colorado Academy.  At the Olympic Development level, Menachof competed for the Region IV team in 2004 and attended ODP national camps.  She played for the Colorado ODP team for two years and attended regional camps each year.  Her club team, Real 89, won the Colorado State Championship five times and a Regional Title once.  Menachof was the 2005 State Cup MVP after leading her team in goals and assists in the same season.

IN THE CLASSROOM: A First Team All-PAC 10 Academic selection at California, Menachof is majoring in integrative physiology at Colorado. Menachof also was a First Team Big 12 All-Academic selection in 2009.

PERSONAL: Kelly Menachof was born on Oct. 3, 1988 in San Francisco, Calif. and is the daughter of Michael and Kathleen Menachof of Castle Rock, Colo.  Her hobbies include snowboarding, longboarding, and playing video games.
