FRESHMAN (2006): Wheeler made two appearances for 18 minutes as a freshman. She saw a season-high 13 minutes against No. 8 Texas A&M on Oct. 6.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wheeler played four years at Monarch high school for coach Dave Palmiery. She was a second team All-State selection as a sophomore and helped lead her team to a 20-12-1 record as a junior and senior. She was also a member of the Edge Select club team under coach Micah Loring. Lists her biggest moment of her prep career as being a part of the first Monarch high school team to make it to the Sweet Sixteen.
IN THE CLASSROOM: A three-year Honor Roll student at Monarch, Wheeler is an open-option major at Colorado and is interested in psychology.
PERSONAL: Kyrna Wheeler was born on February 15, 1988. Her parents are Richard Wheeler and Heleen Lenahan of Louisville, Colo. She has a younger brother Shane (15), who is a sophomore at Monarch. Her father played lacrosse at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Her hobbies include snowboarding ad working with animals.
