Senior (2001): One of the team's co-captains, Peterson was the steadiest force in the net for the Buffs, starting 11 games and appearing in 13, posting a 2.70 GAA and .621 save percentage. She earned her only win of the season coming off the bench to make three saves in the second half of a 2-1 win over Wyoming on Sept. 2. She had a season-high seven saves in a 2-2 draw with No. 9 Texas A&M on Sept. 30.
Junior (2000): Peterson was Colorado’s starting netminder in the season opener at Denver, but was injured in the opening half of play. She broke her clavicle, and was not slated to make a return to the Buff lineup until the Big 12 Tournament in November. Constant rehabilitation and discipline in the training room brought her back to the Colorado lineup for the Missouri game, which saw her surrender a pair of goals in the loss to the Tigers. She bounced back against Kansas, making two breakaway saves and preserving CU’s 1-0 shutout over the Jayhawks, CU’s second in conference action. She would allow three goals in the loss to Baylor, followed by four more in the loss to No. 4 Nebraska. Peterson regrouped to again give Colorado a shutout performance in the rainy weather in CU’s 1-0 win over Iowa State. She earned another shutout in the 2-0 win over Texas Tech to clinch CU’s second berth to the Big 12 Tournament. She allowed just 12 goals and grabbed 43 saves in her first season in Boulder for a 1.60 goals against average in a team-high eight starts for a 3-3 record.
Sophomore at Montana (1998): A transfer, Peterson enrolled at Montana, but transferred to Colorado soon after the beginning of the school year that fall.
Freshman at San Diego (1997): Was the starting goalkeeper for the Toreros, earning a record of 7-12-1 in 20 games. Gave up 46 goals while pulling in 86 saves, earning a 2.43 goals against average in 1,703 minutes. She had two shutouts, facing 255 shots.
High School: Peterson was a three-time all-state selection for coach Beth Peske at Colorado Academy. As a senior, she earned all-state, all-region and was 3A Player of the Year as chosen by the state’s high school coaches. She also earned All-Colorado honors from the Denver Post, while earning Metro League Senior of the Year honors. Her junior campaign, Peterson earned second-team all-state honors from the state coaches association, as well as second team all-league. As a sophomore, Peterson was all-state once again, earning second team honors from the coaches, as well as second team all-league. Peterson was also an accomplished basketball player, earning first-team all-Metro honors three times, and honorable mention all-state as a senior. She lists the biggest moment in her high school career as scoring the winning goal over rival Kent Denver while playing goalkeeper.
