Colorado native Evan Sanders Lobato enters her 11th season as an assistant coach with the University of Colorado volleyball program in 2026 after joining the staff in February 2016.

During her tenure in Boulder, Sanders Lobato has helped guide the Buffaloes to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 run in 2017 and a return to postseason play in 2025. The Buffs finished the 2025 season with a 23-9 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Big 12 play, earning the program's 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance. Colorado swept American in the opening round before advancing to the second round for the 12th time in program history. The team's 23 victories were its most since 2017, tied for the third-most wins in school history, and marked the program's 13th 20-win season.

Throughout her time on staff, Sanders Lobato has played an integral role in recruiting and developing student-athletes who have earned All-America, all-region and all-conference recognition. She helped assemble a nationally ranked recruiting class following the 2018 season and has contributed to the continued growth and success of the program across both the Pac-12 and Big 12 eras.

Prior to Colorado, Sanders Lobato spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Texas, helping the Longhorns advance to the NCAA Championship match and capture the Big 12 title with a 30-3 record.
Before entering coaching, Sanders Lobato played professionally in France, Greece and with the Florida Wave of the Professional Volleyball League. Collegiately, she competed at both Colorado State and Washington, helping each program reach the NCAA Tournament. A two-time All-Mountain West selection at Colorado State, she was also named to the U.S. National A2 Team in 2010 and earned a gold medal at the USA Volleyball Open National Championships.

A native of Lafayette, Colorado, Sanders Lobato graduated from Centaurus High School, where she was a standout multi-sport athlete and three-time conference player of the year in volleyball. She and her husband, Seth, have three sons.
