Saana Koljonen joins the Buff staff in 2019 as the team’s volunteer assistant coach. Koljonen comes to Boulder as a national team player for Finland since 2014. She was named a co-captain of the team in 2016 and helped the team qualify for the European Championship Tournament in 2019 for the first time in 30 years. The team won silve in the European league in 2017 as Koljonen led the team as the libero.
She also played as the libero for QuimperVolley29 professional team from August 2018 to February 2019. Prior to that she played for HPK Hameenlinna for a season where she was a co-captain. The team lead to the championship gold, cup gold and being named the Best Libero of the Season.
