Sisco in 2008
Emilee Sisco stepped into a starting role as a sophomore and looks to be one of the starters in 2008. Sisco’s size matches up well with other outside hitters across the Big 12 and she should be able to take more of a leader’s role this season.
As a Sophomore in 2007
Sisco became a starter for the Buffs on the outside as a sophomore. She played the first match against Tulane before sitting out for three matches. Sisco played in the next 24 straight matches. She recorded a career-high 30 kills against Kansas (11/10). In doing so, she became the first Buff to record 30 or more kills in a match since 2006 and was named the CU Athlete of the Week. Two matches prior, she put up 27 kills versus Texas Tech (11/3). Sisco led the Buffs in kills for five matches and ranked fourth on the team with 248 kills. She recorded a career-high hitting percentage of .277 against then-No. 11 ranked California with nine kills on 22 swings with four errors.
As a Freshman in 2006
Sisco played in seven games as a freshman. She made her collegiate debut again Cincinnati (9/7), playing one game. Sisco played in a pair of games against Central Connecticut State (9/8) and Southern Mississippi (9/9). She also saw action against Texas (9/20) and Kansas (9/23). Sisco recorded five attempts and two assists.
High School
Sisco was a state finalist for Wendy’s High School Heisman as a senior. She set a South Puget Sound League record in kills in 2005 with 169 kills in 47 games (3.60 kpg). Sisco also recorded a school record 27 kills in a single match. During her senior campaign, she helped the Hornets to an 11-2 record and their first state tournament appearance in nine years. Sisco was named to the Volleyball All-Area Team and the Volleyball 2005 All-State Team-Western Washington. As a member of the Puget Sound Club Volleyball Team, she was named all-tournament at the Emerald City Classic. The PSVBC also participated in the junior Olympics three times. Sisco was a member of the USAV High Performance Team for three years and was on the USAV A-3 Team. Sisco was a three-sport athlete, lettering twice in track and once in basketball. She recorded marks in the top 10 in the javelin and discus. Sisco participated in the state tournament in the javelin as a sophomore and the shot put as a junior.
Personal
Born Emilee Nicole Sisco on March 24, 1988 in Dallas, Texas. Her parents are Jeff and Kristen Sisco of Enumclaw, Wash. She has an older brother Jeff (24) and older twin 20-year-old sisters, Sarah and Jaclyn. Sarah is on a music scholarship at USC, while Jaclyn has a music scholarship at Biola. She also has one younger sister, Gabbi (15), who is the varsity high school setter. Her father ran track at Baylor and her grandfather, Jack, played football at BU. Jack was a high school All-American and a two-time All-American for the Bears. He played professionally with the Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns. Sisco’s great-grandfather, Robert D. “Jack” Sisco, was a three-sport athlete at Baylor (football, baseball, basketball). He went on to be the head football coach at Navy and North Texas State. Both Jack and Robert are in the Baylor Hall of Fame. Dennis Peschek, Sisco’s uncle, played collegiate football at Western Washington. Sisco competes in equestrian competitions and has ridden hunter/jumper horses since she was six. She was also recruited by Stanford, Florida, Texas and Penn State. Sisco chose Colorado for the friendly atmosphere, the coaches and players and just knew it was the right place for her.
Academics
Sisco is an integrated physiology major at Colorado and would like to be a veterinarian, orthodontist or specialize in some other type of medicine. She was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the springs of ’06. In high school, Sisco was a member of the National Honor’s Society.
