He tied for 16th in the season opener—the Vuori Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and then tied for third in the Air Force Gene Miranda Invitational. He owned a stroke average of 71.0 for the six rounds – three subpar and one even par, highlighted by a second round 8-under 64 in the Air Force meet, tying the school record with eight before him for the lowest score in school history in relation to par for a single round. He had two streaks of 27 and 24 holes of par or better as well, with an eagle, 19 birdies and 73 pars between the two events. He helped CU to second place in the Vuori and a win at Air Force.
