
VANDERDYS WINS CONSOLATION FINAL

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah ? Colorado sophomore Jessica Vanderdys won five consecutive matches en route to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Consolation Central Region Final defeating Anna Dybicz of Arkansas, 6-4, 6-4, Sunday morning.
Vanderdys, who lost her opening round match in the Round of 64 earlier in the week to number one seed Urska Juric of Missouri, 6-1, 7-6, stormed back in the consolation round with five straight wins to claim the final win.
Vanderdys, a sophomore from Centreville, Va., recorded a 14-7 mark last spring for the Buffaloes with an impressive 12-3 mark at the No. 5 singles position.
The Central Region tournament featured over 120 participants in singles play and 56 doubles entries from 26 college teams across the region, was hosted by the University of Utah.
