BOULDER - Tera Bjorklund scored 18 points and picked up nine rebounds and Sabrina Scott and Kate Fagan made three 3-pointers apiece as Colorado defeated Kansas 73-42 Wednesday night.
Just three days after being blanked at Missouri, Scott finished the night with 15 points and five rebounds. Her three 3-point shots matched a career-high set on March 1, 2000, at Kansas State.
It was Bjorklund's sixth straight double-digit scoring effort.
Tamara Ransburg had 12 points and Erica Hallman added eight points and four assists for the Jayhawks (9-11, 2-7 Big 12), who were outshot 54 percent to 34 percent.
The Jayhawks matched up poorly against the Buffs (16-4, 6-3) in the first half and made just 7-of-23 shots from the field.
Colorado took a 26-8 lead midway through the first half and never relinquished the lead.
Four of Colorado's first five baskets were 3-pointers, including two by Fagan. The Buffs made seven 3-pointers in the first half and Bjorklund scored nine of her 11 first-half points during the flurry.
Colorado expanded its margin to 26 with a 12-4 run capped by a 3-pointer by Scott with 4:10 to go.
The Buffs led 42-14 at the half. Their 42 points were the highest point total in a Big 12 half this season.
Fagan hit the game's first basket, a 3-pointer with 19:17 left. Crystal Kemp responded for the Jayhawks with a layup less than a minute later. Colorado then took an 11-2 lead.
Colorado outscored Kansas 31-28 in the second half.
Colorado used an 11-2 run early in the second half to take its biggest lead of the night, 61-25. Bjorklund's three-point play highlighted the surge. The 6-5 center hit a layup, was fouled and made the subsequent free-throw.
Kansas got no closer than 25 points for the remainder of the game. Kansas has dropped seven of its last nine games.
