NORMAN, Okla. ? Junior Allie Griffin had a season-high 25 kills and junior Maragda Santillana added 22 but Oklahoma came back from a 2-1 deficit to pick up its first Big 12 Conference win 2004 over Colorado in five games. Games scores were 30-24, 16-30, 22-30, 30-20, 15-11.
Colorado drops to 10-6 overall and 5-4 in the Big 12. OU snaps an eight-match losing streak, improving to 9-8 overall, 1-8 in league play.
The Buffaloes had more kills (69-52) and a higher hitting percentage (.203-.153), but suffered on the service game. CU had 17 service errors while Oklahoma had nine service aces accounting for 25 points throughout the match.
Griffin registered the double-double with 13 digs to go along with her 25 kills. Austin Zimmerman also had 13 digs for the Buffs.
Oklahoma's Joanna Schmitt had 20 kills and 18 digs while Jennifer Adams had 10 blocks. The Sooners out-blocked Colorado, the league's second best blocking team during conference matches, 16.5-9.
Colorado will return home to host No. 20 Texas A&M on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Coors Events Conference Center.
