Colorado Texas Tech Notes

February 03, 2007 | Women's Basketball

Colorado wins its 10th game of the season reaching double-digit wins for the first time since the 2003-04 campaign. The four Big 12 wins are also the most since 2003-04.

Colorado snaps a four game losing streak to Texas Tech. The Lady Raiders still lead the overall series 13-4.

Colorado won for just the second time in its last 18 games against a Big 12 Southern Division team. The other win came against Oklahoma State, 73-62, on Feb. 26, 2006

After entering the season with 26 straight losses when trailing at halftime, Colorado picked up its fourth such win of the season (San Francisco, Missouri, Kansas State)

A season-high 12 players on the Buffaloes roster scored at least two points and 11 of 13 had at least one field goal.

Jasmina Ilic scored 27 points and became the 21st player in team history to reach the 1,000 point mark reaching the milestone on a layup with 10:10 remaining in the game.  She now sits at 1,014. Ilic is the ninth fastest Buff to reach the 1,000 point milestone, doing so in her 84th career game.

Ilic's five 3-pointers tied a team season high. Bianca Smith had five in the win over Iowa State on Jan. 10.

Ilic was 4-of-4 from the free throw line and is now 40 for her last 44 from the charity stripe (.909).

Ilic was held scoreless against Texas Tech last season in Lubbock in just three minutes of play.

Hannah Skildum had a season-high eight points, passing her previous high of six against Southern California on Dec. 2.

Colorado entered the game ranking last in the Big 12 in offensive rebounding at just 10.75 per game and even lower in conference only games at 7.75 per contest. The Buffaloes had eight in the first 12 minutes and 14 in the first half. Colorado finished with a season high 23 for the game. CU's previous high in a Big 12 game was 11 against Oklahoma on Jan. 20.

Colorado's success in offensive rebounding led to a 12-0 advantage in second chance points in the first half and 22-5 for the contest.

Texas Tech's 56 percent shooting in the first half was the best by a Colorado opponent in a half this season. The Lady Raiders made 14-of-25 from the field to better the 53.6 percent shot by Oklahoma (15-of-28) in the first half on Jan. 20.
