Colorado Tied For Lead After One Round At Baja Invite
February 06, 2007 | Women's Golf
ENCENADA, Mexico ? The University of Colorado women's golf team is currently tied for the lead with Oregon at the Baja Invitational in Encenada, Mexico, with a score of 298 after the first round. The second round was suspended due to darkness last night and again this morning due to fog. All three rounds will be played.
Christine Kim shot the best college round with a 71 to lead the Buffs. It was the best college round. Hannah Hoch and Lindsay Caljouw each recorded a 74. Julie Kim shot a 79 and Dominique Pytlewski earned an 84.
"With all the weather that we've had in Colorado, I am very happy with our first round team score,” head coach Anne Kelly said. “We haven't had a lot of time to play on golf courses and putt on real greens, so this is a nice first round result. I'm particularly happy with Christine; I knew that she was capable of a round under par right off the bat after the winter break."
The remaining rounds will be completed this morning and afternoon.
