Burrell and Tebo Earn Top 10 Finishes

            SAN DIEGO, Calif. ? University of Colorado freshmen Megan Burrell and Matt Tebo each came away with a 10th-place finish at the 2008 USA Cross Country Championships in the junior's divisions in San Diego on Saturday, Feb. 16.

 

Burrell, who was a redshirt for the Buffs in the 2007 season, completed the 6k race in 21 minutes and 58 seconds. Jordan Hasay won the women's race in 20:32 and was one of two females to finish the race in less than 21 minutes.

 

Tebo crossed the finish of the 8k race in 24:58, 40 seconds behind German Fernadez (24:18). Tebo placed third overall in the junior's race in 2007 to earn a spot on the U.S. roster to compete at the World Championships. He served as an alternate on the NCAA Mountain Region and Championship teams in 2007.

 

Allison Sawyer also competed in the junior women's race. She finished in 23:29. Richard Medina was 40th overall, crossing the tape at 26:16.
