Tennis Scores Victory Over UNC

BOULDER? The University of Colorado tennis team scored their first win of the spring season, sweeping the University of Northern Colorado, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Millennium Harvest House.

“The win is important,” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. “For me, you just move on and keep going. Each match is each match. A lot of it comes down to consistency.”

CU didn't give up a doubles or a singles point throughout the entire match. The Buffs improved to 1-3 in their spring season while the Bears fell to 0-2.

Throughout the meetings between the Buffs and the Bears, CU owns a 27-2 record.

Colorado kept the winning momentum going after dominating in the doubles round, with all six singles matches belonging to CU.

Monica Milewski, ranked No. 36 nationally, secured her third singles win of the season. Melisa Esposito and Franziska Jendrian each scored their second victory. The doubles team of Milewski and Jendrian has won three of their matches in the spring season.

Colorado will continue the homestand at the Millennium Harvest House hosting the University of Denver on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m.
