OSU-CU Notes

January 24, 2010 | Women's Basketball

Oklahoma State wins its fourth straight against Colorado and narrows the Buffaloes' series lead to 26-24. OSU has won five of the last six meetings.

Colorado drops its 15th straight game against a ranked opponent and 12th straight to a team ranked in both the AP and WBCA Coaches poll (Iowa State was ranked only in the WBCA poll in the meeting earlier this season as was Kansas State in two meetings in 2008-09). CU's last win over a ranked opponent was a 73-68 home win over No. 15/15 Kansas State on Feb. 23, 2008.

Colorado drops to 50-121 all-time against ranked teams.

Colorado shot a season-low 30.6 percent (19-of-62).

Senior Courtney Dunn recorded her second career double-double. She tied a career high (Denver) and recorded a personal Big 12 best 16 points to go along with a career-best 14 rebounds. Dunn also recorded career highs with six free throws on eight attempts.

Both of Dunn's double-doubles have come in the last four games. She had 10 points and 11 rebounds at Texas Tech on Jan. 12.

Junior Brittany Spears had 18 points, moving into 14th place on CU's all-time scoring list. She moved past Sandy Bean who had 1,319 from 1978-82. Spears now has 1,325 points in 81 career games (16.4 ppg).

Spears reached double digits in scoring for the 17th time in 18 games this season, 48 of her last 51 games and 71 of 81 career outings.

Senior guard Bianca Smith scored nine points, leaving her just one shy of becoming the 23rd player in school history to reach 1,000. She hit three 3-pointers, giving her 229 for her career and 23 shy of Shelley Sheetz's school record of 252 set from 1991-95.
