AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Colorado women's tennis season came to an end falling 4-0 to top ranked and top seeded Baylor, Friday morning in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tennis Championships played at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center.

Seeded ninth, Colorado advanced to the quarterfinal round for the fourth straight season, lost the doubles point, then dropped the next three singles slots all in straight sets.

The Buffaloes, ranked No. 72 nationally ends the season at 11-13, while the Bears won their 19th straight match and improves to 25-2 overall. Baylor is the four-time Big 12 defending champion.

Baylor advances to Saturday's semifinals (2 p.m. MDT) to play fourth-seeded Texas A&M.

"Congratulations to Baylor. They were able to play a well-disciplined match and we were not able to keep up with them the way we wanted to," CU head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "My hat goes off to them and I wish them the best of luck the rest of the season. I think our team got out there and they tried their best and it just fell short. Hopefully it gives them the motivation to see what is possible."

The match started out the same way it did back on April 18 in Waco with the Bears sweeping the doubles portion. In singles, the Bears won the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 slots.

At No. 1 singles, Baylor's fifth nationally ranked player, Lenka Broosova remained unbeaten against Big 12 Conference competition (12-0) defeating Monica Milewski, 6-1, 6-1. In 11 conference matches for Milewski, her two losses were to Broosova. It was only the third loss for Milewski since Feb. 7.

At No.2, BU's No. 19 ranked singles player Nina Secerbegovic defeated No. 117 Melisa Esposito, 6-0, 6-1; and at No. 4, Csilla Borsanyi, No. 98 nationally ranked player, blanked Michala Hedelund Jensen, 6-0, 6-0.

The Bears top four singles players are all ranked.

In a match that was suspended, junior Abbie Probert was leading No. 68 Taylor Ormond, 6-4, 1-0 at No. 3 singles.
