Colorado Athletes Compete At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - Ten University of Colorado track and field athletes traveled to Palo Alto to compete in the Stanford Invitational on Friday. 

The CU men competed well in the 10,000-meter run as Christian Thompson ran a 29:13 taking fourth overall in his heat with teammate Andy Wacker in the same heat running a 29:19 to finish 25th. Martin Medina ran the 10,000 with a time of 29:21 beating his old best time of 30:05, giving him a personal record time in the event.  

In the men's 1500 meter run, Matthew Biegner ran a time of 3:46.45, placing first in his heat. Hugh Dowdy ran a 3:50.76 to place fifth overall in his heat. 

On the Women's side, in the 10,000-meter run Jana Stolting ran a 34:03 improving her best time by 47 seconds placing 11th in her heat. Camille Logan also improved her time by 20 seconds with a mark of 34:29 to place 16th in her heat. Rachel Viger ran a time of 35:06, finishing in the top 30 of her heat. 

These long distance runners will be back in action next weekend, April 13, for the CU invitational in Boulder Colo.
