Buffs To Play Two Matches In L.A. This Weekend

Notes
• The Buffs are looking for their second Pac-12 win of the season with games at UCLA (Friday, 7 p.m. MT) and USC (Sunday, 12 p.m. MT).
Last Week
• CU led 1-0 on the road at No. 4 Stanford on Oct. 16 after an own goal by the Cardinal, but surrendered two goals in the game's first 20 minutes in a 2-1 loss.
• Kate Scheele made two saves in the second half of Friday's loss at Stanford and did not surrender a goal in 45 minutes of playing time.
• Alex Huynh had CU's lone shot attempt in the game.

Broadcast Information
• Both matches this weekend will be televised.
• Friday's match at UCLA will be aired on Pac-12 Mountain with Jim Watson (play-by-play) and Tammy Blackburn (color) serving as the on-air talent.
• Sunday's match at USC will be aired on Pac-12 Networks with Jim Watson and Tammy Blackburn again handling the broadcast.
Scouting the Bruins (6-7-1 overall, 2-3-1 Pac-12)
• Darian Jenkins lead the Bruins with five goals this season, starting 12 of the 13 matches she has played in.
• Kodi Lavrusky has three goals and two assists for eight points.
• Taylor Smith (2 G, 2 A) and Annie Alvarado (2 G, 2 A) are the lone returning starters from last season's squad.
• Three different goalkeepers have started a game this season, with Siri Ervik starting the past three and going 1-1-1 with a 1.24 GAA and .636 save percentage during that stretch.
Scouting the Trojans (10-4-1 overall, 5-1-0 Pac-12)
• USC is currently ranked No. 24 in the NSCAA/Continental top-25.
• Sydney Johnson leads the team with 11 points, including five goals and one assist, but has yet to start a game this season.
• Morgan Andrews had three goals and four assists for 10 points.
• Mandy Freeman (1 G, 4 A) and Kayla Mills (2 G, 2 A) were both named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team last season.
• Sammy Jo Prudhomme has played all 1,370 minutes in goals this season, posting a 0.66 GAA and .825 save percentage, including six shutouts.
Krauser Dishing Assists
• Senior Madi Krauser has transitioned from the attack to playing on the backline this season, however she has found herself in the mix on offense at times.
• She has three assists this season and her 15 career assists ranks fourth all-time in the CU record book.
• She only needs two more assists to move into third place.
Bonus Soccer
• The Buffaloes have played in five overtime matches already this season, posting a 2-1-2 record in those contests.
• Four of the five have been played at home and just one on the road.
Sharing Scoring Opportunities
• Nine different Buffs have scored at least one goal this season and five have tallied more than two goals through 14 matches.
Newcomers Making an Impact
• Freshmen Amy Alexander, Erin Greening, Sarah Kinzner, Brooklyn Varnadore, Alex Vidger and Stephanie Zuniga along with Portland transfer Danica Evans have each stepped up, playing important roles this season, whether starting or coming off the bench.
• The group of newcomers have combined for six goals, five assists, 86 shots with 35 on goal and three game-winners.
Junior Brie Hooks
• Brie Hooks continues to be a leader for the Buffs in her junior year.
• She is first on the team with four goals and five assists.
• Her goal against Iowa State earlier this season moved her into sixth place on the all-time scoring list.
• Hooks has five assists this season, which is tied for second in the conference and her 14 career assists is tied for fifth in the CU record book.
• Her nine career game-winners is fifth most all-time.
• She also is tied for third in the Pac-12 Conference with 52 shots, averaging 3.71 per contest and is seventh in points with 13 total.
Scheele Shining
• Senior goalkeeper Kate Scheele has recorded three shutouts this season and has 14 career clean sheets, which in just her second season at CU, ranks fourth on the all-time list.
Series History
vs. UCLA
• Colorado is 1-6-0 all-time vs. UCLA, including 0-4-0 in away games
• Kate Scheele made two saves in last year's 1-0 loss in Los Angeles
vs. USC
• Colorado is 3-3-0 all-time vs. USC, including 2-0-0 in away games
• The Buffs have won the past three meetings between the two schools, including a 1-0 upset in Los Angeles last year when USC was ranked No. 18.
• Madison Krauser scored the lone goal in last year's win and Brie Hooks and Alyssa Herwatt also have each scored in their careers against the Trojans.
• Kate Scheele had four saves in her shutout at USC a year ago and also assisted on Krauser's goal.
