Lacrosse Team Hosts Halloween Celebration At Children's Hospital

October 23, 2015 | Lacrosse

AURORA – As Halloween quickly approaches, the University of Colorado lacrosse team brought smiles to the faces of more than 20 children and their families when the Buffaloes took a trip to Children's Hospital Colorado to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

“We were excited to have the opportunity to do something fun and get to interact with patients and their families,” said junior Maddy Krause.

Many of the lacrosse student-athletes dressed in costumes and set up crafts for the children. They painted and colored various Halloween crafts and some kids played catch with one of the players who was dressed up as Peyton Manning.

The team also handed out T-shirts, Buffs stickers, and bracelets that Krause said were a huge hit.

Krause and her teammates attend many of the CU athletics community events, but they are planning on putting more of a focus on community service this year. In 2013, they went to Denver Health to make and deliver blankets to some of the children.

This was the first time the team visited the Children's Hospital and they hope to be involved in many more events and activities with them in the future.
