21 Buffs Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

SAN FRANCISCO-- The University of Colorado track and field team placed 21 student-athletes, 11 women and 10 men, on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, the league announced on Friday.
A trio of men, redshirt freshman Adam Peterman and sophomores Ben Saarel and Panos Smyrnios were named to the All-Academic first team, while sophomore Joe Holvey and junior Morgan Pearson earned second team honors. Sophomores Paden Gatlin, Erik Gaytan and Garrett Losty joined seniors Alex Kizirian and Blake Theroux on the honorable mention squad.
On the women's side, senior Lindsy Mattson was named to the first team, while sophomore Mariah Slack was named to the second team. Nine of their teammates earned honorable mention honors. They are redshirt freshmen Eryn Blakely and Erin Clark, juniors Maddie Alm, Eileen Gehring, Sophie Hallam-Eames, Catrina McAlister, Ewelina Pena and Abrianna Torres and graduate student Abby Levene.
To be eligible for the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.00 overall grade point average and either be a starter or participate in a minimum of 50% of the schedule contests.
