Buffs Split Squad To Compete At NuttyCombe & Pre-National Invitationals

BOULDER – For the second straight race week, the University of Colorado will split its cross country teams, sending part of the team to the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the rest to the NCAA Pre-National Invitational.

The Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational will take place on Friday, Oct. 13, in Madison, Wis. The meet, which is in its ninth season, will be split into two sections. The 'B' races, which the Buffs will be participating in, start at 10 a.m. MT with the women's 6k race. The men's 8k race follows at 10:40 a.m. MT. All races will be held at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. Results from the races will be available at: go.wisc.edu/2017Nutty.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, CU will have its varsity squads race at pre-nationals in Louisville, Ky. The top-ranked CU women and seventh-rated CU men will use this chance to preview the NCAA Championship course at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park. The NCAA Championships will be held on Nov. 18 at the same course.

Pre-Nationals is split into two team races for the men and women due to the amount of teams competing. The first race of the day, the men's 8k seeded red race, will kick off the day at 8 a.m. MT. The women's 6k race is to follow at 8:45 a.m. The unseeded black races will go after the red races, starting at 9:30 a.m. MT. Race results will be posted at gocards.com.

Both races will be streamed live on FloTrack, although a subscription is required.
