Buffs Travel To Utah For Final Match Of The Season

April 21, 2017 | Tennis

BOULDER – One more match remains in the regular season for Colorado's women's tennis team, and it involves a trip to the rival Utah Utes on Saturday, April 22.

CU brings a 9-11 (1-8 Pac-12) record to Salt Lake City and the Buffs are currently stuck in the midst of a six-match skid that they'll look to snap at the Utes while finishing off the season strong.

Utah welcomes CU in the middle of their own two-match losing streak, having dropped their last match in Denver against the Pioneers.  The Utes carry an 8-10 (2-7 Pac-12) record into the match against the Buffs.

This past weekend CU senior Nuria Ormeño Ruiz won her final match in Boulder, and she'll look to get her 20th win of the season as her record currently sits at 19-13.  If she can snag herself a win it'll be the third time in her career at CU that she finished the season with at least 20 wins and it would be her 81st career win which would put her in a tie at eighth place on CU's all-time singles total list.

Junior transfer Louise Ronaldson has had a great start to her CU career posting a 16-9 record through her first season in Boulder.  She'll look to build some momentum heading into next season as she's already made a name for herself as a Buff.

Freshman Chloe Hule has put together a solid first campaign, playing a big role in the middle of the Buffs lineup all season long, and a win on Saturday would give her 12 wins which would be the most for a freshman at CU since Ruiz put together a stellar freshman season finishing with 20 wins.

Sophomore's Annabelle Andrinopoulos and Brigitte Beck both look to finish their strong second year campaign having both been key to the Buffs lineup throughout the season.  While junior Kyra Wojcik will look to finish with her tenth win, which would be the second time in her career as a Buff that she snagged ten wins in a season.

The match is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. MT time start, and the match will be shown live on Pac-12 Mountain.  Keep an eye on twitter for any chances to match start times and a live link to live stats will be provided on match day.
