CAREER: She finished her career ninth in CU history in singles wins with 80 and 20th in winning percentage at .615 (80-50 record). Her 18 wins at the No. 1 singles position ranked ninth. Her doubles record of 58-52 placed her tied for 17th in wins and 37th in winning percentage (.527). Finally, Ormeño Ruiz’s combined 138 singles doubles wins ranked 12th in school history.
 
2017 SPRING (SENIOR): Ormeño-Ruiz earned ITA Senior Regional Player of the Year and second-team All-Pac-12 for her performance during her senior campaign. She finished the season with a 19-14 singles record and a 19-10 mark in doubles matches between the fall and spring seasons. She played primarily at No. 1 singles, going 10-10 at that position, and was 3-6 in the Pac-12. In singles, she went 4-7 vs. nationally-ranked opponents for the season, including a 6-0, 6-4 win over No. 51 Caroline Doyle of Stanford in the spring. She earned five straight wins from Jan. 16 to Jan. 29. In Pac-12 play, in addition to the win over Doyle, she defeated Barbora Michalkova from Washington State and Shweta Sangwan of Oregon. In doubles action, she was a combined 9-8 at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. She paired with Kyra Wojcik for the majority of the season. The duo went 5-7 together, including 1-5 in Pac-12 action. They earned a conference win over Melisa Ates and Michalkova from WSU on March 24. They also defeated Katarina Kopcalic and Lana Slavica 6-4 against Washington in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. Her 19 doubles victories were tied for the 32nd-most in school history.
 
2016 (FALL): She opened the fall season with six straight wins in singles and five consecutive wins in doubles, including including perfect marks at the CU Invitational. She qualified for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships and reached the Round of 32 after going 3-0 in the qualifying rounds with three straight wins over top-100 opponents, including 33rd-ranked Andie Daniell of Alabama. At the ITA Regional Championships, Ormeño Ruiz was upset in the Round of 16 by Sheila Morales of Nevada. In doubles, she and Louise Ronaldson reached the quarterfinals at the regional tournament after upsetting 43rd-ranked Morales and Blaga Delic from Nevada in the Round of 16.
 
2016 SPRING (JUNIOR): Ormeño Ruiz earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 after leading the team in singles wins (23), spring season wins (13), No. 1 singles wins (7), tournament wins (11), Pac-12 wins (4) and dual-match wins (12). Her 23-13 (.639) record was also the best on the team and her 23 wins ranked 28th in CU single-season history. Ormeño Ruiz finished the year with two match-clinching singles wins and four doubles point-clinching wins after going 12-13 in doubles matches. Her 6-6 mark at the No. 1 doubles spot was also best on the team. She defeated Lois Wagenvoort of UTEP on Jan. 24 to clinch CU’s 5-2 team victory. Ormeño Ruiz earned a victory over a nationally-ranked opponent on March 13, upsettting No. 27 Lauren Marker 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 to help CU to a 4-3 win over No. 59 Arizona. Her win 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (5) over Nia Rose from Oregon gave CU a 4-3 win over the 41st-ranked Ducks. That match was tied 3-3 overall when Rose and Ormeño Ruiz began their third set. She also earned Pac-12 victories against Donika Bashota (Washington State) and Margo Pletcher (Utah), while earning a win over Arizona’s Shayne Austin in the consolation round of the Pac-12 Championships after a close, three-set loss to 40th-ranked Taylor Davidson from Stanford in the first round. In doubles play, she helped clinch the doubles point with teammate Tina Bokhua against Kansas State and Northern Colorado. Ormeño Ruiz also clinched doubles points against Colorado State (with Kyra Wojcik) and Oregon (with Jeannez Daniel). She was also named the team’s Clutch Player of the Year for the third consecutive season and earned the ITA Mountain Region Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award, becoming the fifth player in school history to earn that award. She was ranked during much of the season, with her highest ranking being No. 74.
 
2015 FALL (JUNIOR): Ormeño Ruiz became the first CU tennis player in school history to win a regional championship and compete at the National Indoor Championships. She won her first 10 singles matches of the fall, including six straight in the ITA Mountain Region Championships. She defeated three regionally-ranked players at the Mountain Regional, including sixth-ranked Julia O’Loughlin of Denver 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the finals. At nationals, she lost a pair of three-set matches to nationally-ranked players. In doubles play, she was 5-4 and reached the Round of 16 at the Mountain Region tournament with teammate Jeannez Daniel.
 
2015 SPRING (SOPHOMORE): Ormeño Ruiz was named the program’s Clutch Player of the Year for the second straight year after she tied for the team-high in victories (18), had the most wins in the spring (14) and a team-best 12 spring victories at any singles position (No. 3). She also led the Buffs with four Pac-12 singles wins. She won her first four dual matches and eight of her first nine. Ormeño Ruiz finished the spring season ranked as the No. 15 player in the Mountain Region with an 8-1 record. She clinched a pair of singles and doubles points. In singles, she clinched CU’s upset over then-No. 63 New Mexico (Feb. 15) with a straight-set win and helped the Buffs rally to defeat then-No. 67 Denver 4-3 on the road with a three-set winner. She put together a trio of four-match winning streaks and had a record of 3-1 when playing three sets. In doubles, Ormeño Ruiz teamed with Alex Aiello to become the first CU doubles team to reach Pac-12 main draw semifinals (Invitational Bracket), defeating Stanford’s Hardebeck/Wolak and Arizona State’s Osbourne/Sahagun, both by 8-6 scores. She clinched team’s doubles point, twice with Kyra Wojcik against Colorado State (Feb. 1) and Washington State (March 29).
 
2014 FALL (SOPHOMORE): Ormeño Ruiz picked up five doubles and four singles wins during the fall season.
 
2014 SPRING (FRESHMAN): Ormeño Ruiz earned the team’s Clutch Player of the Year award. She became the first freshman since Veera Nurmi (2004-05) to win 20 matches in a season and became the first 20-match winner since 2007-08. She won a team-high 20 singles matches, 11 of them in the spring and was second on the team with 11 spring victories, seven at No. 4. She won a team-high four Pac-12 matches (4-1 vs. conference) with victories over opponents from Washington State, Oregon, Washington and Utah. Ormeño Ruiz was a Female Freshman Athlete of the Year Finalist at the CUSPY Awards (CU Sports Performers of the Year). She clinched three CU team wins: Northern Colorado (Jan. 24), Air Force (Feb. 1), and Wyoming (Feb. 14). She opened the spring season winning her first four matches, all in straight sets. From Jan. 24-March 9, Ormeño Ruiz won nine of 12 singles matches. For the season, 15 of her 20 wins were in straight sets and four of her triumphs occurred when she rallied from a set down to claim the match. In doubles, she won 14 matches for the year, including five in the spring. She played No. 1 doubles collecting four wins with Winde Janssens. She clinched a pair of team doubles wins with Janssens (Air Force, No. 57 Denver).
 
2013 FALL (FRESHMAN): Ormeño Ruiz began her initial semester collecting nine wins each in singles and in doubles. She won six of her first seven collegiate matches, including six straight and a quarterfinal appearance at the ITA Mountain Regional in Las Vegas (Oct. 9-13). She teamed with Winde Janssens for a 7-2 mark, the most wins of any fall duo. Ormeño Ruiz picked up another pair of wins with Julyette Steur and she won her first five collegiate singles matches to open the fall season. She advanced to the ITA Mountain Regional Round of 16 in Las Vegas (Oct. 9-13). She also earned CU Athlete of the Week honors (Oct. 7-13).
 
TENNIS IN SPAIN: Ormeño Ruiz played with Sanchez-Canal Academy in 2010. She was ranked as high as fourth in Spain under the age of 16 and in U-18, was ranked fifth in the country and 34th overall of all women in Spain.

PERSONAL: She was born on January 26, 1995, in Madrid, Spain, and is the daughter of Antonio Ormeño and Yolanda Ruiz. She lists graduating from Emilio Sanchez International School (Barcelona) as her biggest moment of high school. She was also a tutor, mentoring 9th and 10th graders during her senior year. Also in high school, wrote her own book.
