Buffs Host 4th Annual Silverado Showdown in Napa

NAPA, CALIF. - The University of Colorado and University of Oregon are co-hosting the Silverado Showdown on April 9-11, 2017, at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif. Here is the basic tournament information:

COURSE:
North Course, Silverado Resort & Spa, Napa, Calif., Par 72, 6,196-yards.

FORMAT:
54 holes of college stroke play format.

WHEN:
Sunday, April 9, 2017, 9:30 a.m. MT 18 holes. 1st Round Tee Times off 1st and 10th Tees.
Monday, April 10, 2017, 9:30 a.m. MT 18 holes. 2nd Round Tee Times off 1st and 10th Tees.
Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 9:30 a.m. MT 18 holes. 3rd Round Shotgun Start.

93 players; 18 teams of five, three individuals

RANKINGS:
The tournament is co-hosted by CU and Oregon and boasts a strong field of 18 including, 11 teams ranked in the top-50 of Golfweek's poll.

CU finished in fourth place at last year's Silverado Showdown with Esther Lee earning a third place finish (73-72-68-213).

Competing for CU is Esther Lee, Brittany Fan, Kirsty Hodgkins, Robyn Choi, Gillian Vance. Competing as an individual is Lauryn Keating.

On how the tournament got started
"This is a tournament we co-host with the U of Oregon. About 5 years ago I was speaking with the Head Coach at Oregon, Ria Scott, and we both were in need of a good tournament for our teams to play in April. There just weren't too many options, but then I remembered speaking with Kim Talley who is the Mom of our former player Emily Talley. Kim and I always kidded around about keeping in touch after Emily graduated and wouldn't it be fun to host a tournament in Napa! Well one thing lead to another and we are hosting the 4th Silverado Showdown. We are so fortunate to play this event at the Silverado Resort and Spa North course, the same course where the PGA tour plays an event."
