Lervik Named RMISA Skier Of The Week

Sophomore from Asker, Norway is the eighth Buff to receive the award this winter
SALT LAKE CITY — Colorado sophomore Anne Siri Lervik was named Monday as the RMISA Skier of the Week for women's Nordic.

This is the first time in Lervik's career that she has received the honor and she is the eighth different Buff this year to earn the accolade. That matches the 2011 season for the most the Buffs have had in one season since the RMISA started announcing skiers of the week back in 2005.

Lervik was CU's top scorer on the women's Nordic team at the DU Invite. She was fourth in Saturday's 5K freestyle skate and placed third in Sunday's 5K classic. That was her second podium finish of the year and she now has finished fifth or better in six consecutive races.

Lervik's efforts helped the CU women win both races over the weekend and take the team overall title.

How you win a RMISA Skier of the Week Award is based on the following criteria:
         • Chosen for each meet based on NCAA qualification points. Associate/non-NCAA members are not eligible.
         • If there is a tie in points, it goes to lowest time differential for both races.
         • You can only win it once a season.
