
Scott, Alev Named CU Athletes of the Week, Presented By Arrow

BOULDER - Gabby Scott from Track and Field and skier Alvar Alev were named the CU Athletes of the Week presented by Arrow for the week of Jan. 28 – Feb. 3.

Scott, a senior from San Diego, Calif., Broke a 22-year-old school record in the women's indoor 400 with a time of 53.56 at the Colorado Invitational hosted by CU in Boulder. She then went and was a part of a 4x400 school record team that broke the record by four seconds.

Alev, won the 7.5K men's classic race at the New Mexico Invitational and finished 10th in the 5K freestyle race, his first two top 10 finishes of the season. His win in the classic race is the third of his career and he helped the Buffs to a second-place team finish at the event.

Mya Hollingshed, Women's Basketball – Added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the loss to Oregon State and got her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Oregon.

Anne Siri Lervik, Nordic Skiing - Won her first collegiate race in the 7.5 classic race at the New Mexico Invitational, helping the Buffs to a 1-2-3 sweep of the podium in that race. She hit the podium twice, also leading the Buffs with a third-place finish in the 5K freestyle race the following day, helping the Buffs to a second-place team finish.

Tyler Bey, a sophomore on the men's basketball team from Las Vegas, Nev., led the Buffs thrilling 73-51 blowout win versus Oregon on Saturday with his ninth career double-double. He finished with a career best 27 points and also added 10 rebounds. His impressive shooting performance stood out as he went 9-9 from the field and 9-11 from the free throw line.
