Buffs Send Jumps and Throws To Air Force

BOULDER – Colorado track and field will send a small group of 15 athletes to the Air Force Collegiate Open Friday, Feb. 21, to compete in jumping and throwing events.
The men's high jump will be a highly contested event with Jeremy Cody returning to the place where he jumped a personal-best 2.14 meters (7-0.25) alongside Giancarlo Narvarte and freshman Ryan Charles who will make his collegiate debut.
Colorado will also compete four in both throw events with Austin Swanson and Lars Atkinson doubling in the shot and weight while Henry Carlson and Ryan Ganson compete in the shot and Clayton Castro and Tyler Sconce are in the weight.
On the women's side, Lauren Whyrick and Gya'ni Sami are doubling in the throws while Elena Opp and Jane Powers compete in the weight.
The Buff will also compete Avery McMullen in the long jump and Cheyenne Cheshier in the triple jump as the two tune up for the MPSF Championships.
The rest of the team will take the weekend off as most are preparing for the MPSF Championships or the transition to the outdoor season.
