
Four Buffs Named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention

SAN FRANCISCO – The Colorado volleyball team had four student-athletes named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Those honored are sophomore right side Sterling Parker, redshirt senior outside Leah Clayton, redshirt junior middle Meegan Hart and graduate student middle Rachael Fara. The quartet made up four of the 15 spots on the All-Pac-12 honorable mentions list.
Parker earns her second such honor after being named an honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Freshman selection last season. She competed in every set for the Buffs and had 172 kills with a .217 hitting percentage and 36 blocks. She was a crucial part to the two top-25 upsets that CU was a part of with 15 kills and a .464 hitting percentage against UCLA and 11 with a .455 hitting percentage against Utah.
This is Clayton's first conference honor as she led Colorado with 197 kills despite only playing in 61 sets. She hit .204 this season and had 164 digs with eight double-doubles. She also became just the 12th Buff to hit for 29 or more kills after her five-set performance against No.10 Washington with 29 kills and a .333 hitting percentage.
Hart earns her first conference honor after leading Colorado with 64 total blocks in 68 sets. She also had 118 kills and a .301 hitting percentage and was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career after she had 13 kills for a .545 hitting percentage, an ace, four digs and eight blocks against No.12 UCLA.
The final honoree is Rachael Fara who finished second in the conference in hitting percentage at .404 with 83 kills. She also added 41 blocks in 47 sets played this season. Her .404 hitting percentage is the second-best mark in school history.
Utah senior Dani Drews was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year while Arizona Freshman Sofia Maldonado Diaz was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. The Pac-12 Setter of the Year honor went to Ella May Powell of Washington. while the Pac-12 Libero of the Year honor went to Zoe Fleck of UCLA. Washington's Keegan Cook was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year.
Colorado finished the season with an 8-12 in the Pac-12 that included upsets of No.12 UCLA and No.11 Utah. CU went 8-3 at home this season. Everyone on the team will return except for Fara.
