Buffs Conclude 2022 at UCCS

BOULDER — The University of Colorado track and field program closes out the 2022 calendar year this weekend at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite at UC-Colorado Springs.

The Buffs combined events and throws squads will compete with the multis opening competing in the first pentathlons and heptathlons of the season. Returning All-American Avery McMullen will lead six women during the pentathlon Friday including Kara Lucyk, Allie Routledge, freshmen Eva Bruce and Riley Burkey and Jada Green. Nick Bianco, Troy Colleran, Noah Bouchard and Jackson Meyer are all competing in the heptathlon.

The Buffs will also see Aidan Christiansen in the 60-meter dash and long jump while Bouchard will double in the 60 hurdles.

Fresh off of a school record opening performance, Gya'ni Sami will look to become the first CU woman to throw greater than 20 meters in the event along with Bella Braun, Jane Powers and Obi Osafo-Mensah. Both Osafo-Mensah and Powers are doubling in the shot put, joining the Whyrick sisters who will throw for the first time this season.

The men will have Tyler Sconce also seeking the 20-meter mark in the weight throw along with Isaiah Bouchard and Lars Atkinson who will compete in both throw events.
