#NFLBuffs Ahkello Witherspoon Shines Once Again

October 11, 2023 | Football

BOULDER — Action across the NFL in Week Five featured Colorado products from all over. Former Colorado defensive back Ahkello Witherspooon shined the brightest, logging his tenth career interception and second of the year on Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Here is how the other Buffs alumni fared in week five during the 2023-24 NFL Season:

  • Chidobe Awuzie - The former Buffs' defensive back did not play in week five against the Cardinals, his return next week against the Seahawks is up in the air.
  • Nate Landman - Landman showed out again for Atlanta, recording seven total tackles in a close home win against the Texans.
  • Isaiah Oliver - Oliver tallied five tackles in the 49ers dominant 42-10 win over the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Oliver continues to start at corner for one of the leagues best defenses.
  • Laviska Shenault - Former Buffs receiver didn't record a catch in week five against the Lions, but got five carries for a total of 27 yards.
  • Ahkello Witherspoon - Despite his teams' 23-14 loss to the Eagles, Ahkello logged his second interception of the season this time against Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

Arlington Hambright (Colts), Brady Russell (Eagles), and Daniel Arias (Chiefs) are all on their team's practice squads. Will Sherman (Broncos) and Josh Tupou (Bengals) suited up in week five but did not see any action. David Bakhtiari (Packers) announced last week that he will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
