Colorado Hosts UCF at Prentup Field: Five Things to Know

The Buffs and Knights meet for the first time on Sunday
BOULDER — Colorado soccer is back at Prentup Field on Sunday. The Buffaloes will match up with Central Florida for a noon kickoff.
Colorado (10-2-2-, 4-1-2 Big 12) opened the week with a draw at No. 24 Texas Tech. Ava Priest scored her third goal of the season late in the second half to steal a point in the standings. The Buffs were outshot 23-5 on the night and goalkeeper Jordan Nytes made seven saves.
UCF (3-4-4, 1-3-2 Big 12) was scheduled to play Arizona at home on Thursday, but had the game moved to Houston due to Hurricane Milton. The Knights trailed by two at halftime but scored two in the second to get back to even. Arizona notched the game-winner in the 81st minute.
The first 500 fans on Sunday will receive a voucher for a free In-N-Out burger at the In-N-Out truck that will be onsite. It's also the team's Gold Rush game and fans can pick up a free t-shirt upon entrance while supplies last.
Five Things to Know
- Colorado has double-digit wins for a second consecutive season (13 in 2023). It's the first time CU has back-to-back 10-win seasons since doing so four straight seasons from 2016-19. It's the eighth time in 13 seasons that CU has hit 10+ wins under head coach Danny Sanchez.
- CU had five players honored this week in Top Drawer Soccer's Mid-season Top 100 lists. Nytes led the way at No. 23. Priest (No. 69), Shyra James (No. 74) and Phoenix Dawn Miranda (No. 82) all made the list. Freshman Jace Holley was ranked No. 72 on the Freshman Top 100.
- The Buffs go into Sunday's matchup, ranked 36 in the RPI rankings. They are the fifth-highest Big 12 team in the RPI rankings.
- Colorado has trotted out the same starting XI the last four contests.
- The Buffs rank 2nd in the Big 12 with 7.64 shots on goal per game. CU has had five games this season with 10 or more shots on goal.
