Cross Country Completes NCAA Championships, Round Out Fall Season

MADISON, Wisc. -- The Colorado Buffaloes cross country team competed in the NCAA Championships Saturday morning at the University of Wisconsin, on the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course.Â
Jessie Secor kicked things off for the Buffs in the women's 6k race. Secor placed 107th overall with a time of 20:34.4. It marks the final event of the cross country season for the Tennessee transfer, completing her first semester as a Buff. Her personal record time at CU in the 6k event came last weekend at the NCAA Mountain Regionals with a time of 20:10.2.
The Colorado men's team finished 19th out of the 31 total schools that competed, with a combined 477 points. Dean Casey placed 30th overall, running a time of 29:21.1, marking a personal best as a Buff. Lukas Haug placed 2nd among the Buffaloes who competed, with a time of 29:57.0 in his first ever 10k event.Â
Isaiah Givens (127th - 30:04.9), Simon Kelati (159th - 30:20.4), and James Overberg (160th - 30:20.9) rounded out the rest of the point scorers for Colorado on the men's side.Â
