High Jumps End Mines Pre-Conference for the Buffs
February 17, 2024 | Track and Field
GOLDEN – The Colorado track and field program had an easygoing day as the Buffaloes sent just two athletes to compete in the Mines Pre-Conference meet here at the Steinhauer Fieldhouse Saturday.
CU had Noah Bouchard and Riley Ward do their thing in their respective high jump events. The men's high jump was first before the women's followed right after.
Bouchard took second in the event after finding himself in a battle with Colorado School of Mines' Grant Redmond. Both jumpers finished with a final height of 2.07 meters, however Redmond was able to clear the bar in just one attempt compared to Bouchard's three.
Ward placed first in the women's high jump after tying her personal best of 1.67 meters. She also found herself in a tight competition with CSU Pueblo's Mikayla Jones. Ward narrowly got the victory after clearing 1.67 meters in one less attempt than Jones did.
