Jerry Quiller Classic Canceled
March 14, 2024 | Track and Field
BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes' highly anticipated Jerry Quiller Classic, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, at Potts Field has been canceled due to inclement weather that hit the Boulder area.
"Travel for all competitors, staff and officials is our primary concern," CU assistant coach and meet director Casey Malone said. "Due to levels of snow already received and expected, and for the safety of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we have concluded cancellation is the best option."
The Buffs return to action next week at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego and the Spank Blasing Invitational in Pueblo. CU will host the Colorado Invitational April 5-6 and the Pac-12 Championships May 10-12 at Potts Field.
Formerly known as the Potts Invitational, the Jerry Quiller Classic was renamed to honor the former CU coach during the 2012-13 season after he passed away after a battle with cancer. Quiller led the Buffs for 15 years, securing three conference championships and multiple NCAA Championship appearances. The 1994 national coach of the year, he was awarded league coach of the year five times and coached 19 All-Americans.
