Track and Field Concludes Three-Day Meet at Bryan Clay Invitational

Sierra Parks kicked off the day with an early 5000-meter run, marking the start of her outdoor season. She achieved a personal best of 17:30.92, securing a 19th-place finish. Katie Doucette and Abbey Nechanicky also competed in the 5000m run invite, placing 18th and 20th, respectively. Nechanicky made her collegiate debut with an impressive time of 16:31.27. Bailey Hertenstein delivered a personal best time of 15:18.80, landing in eighth place.
On the men's side, nine athletes achieved personal bests across seven sections of the 5,000m race. Charles Robertson (14:16.79, 17th place, run open A) and Alex Baca (14:11.17, 12th place, run open A) started the day strong. Elias Lindgren (13:46.74, 7th place), Grady Rauba (13:54.17, 16th place), and Brendan Fraser (14:17.92, 23rd place) also improved on their previous performances. Paul Stafford (13:56.52) and Jake Derouin (13:59.65) set personal bests in the run open section, finishing sixth and 11th, respectively.
Emma Hadley achieved her second personal best of the weekend in the 1500-meter run open, clocking in at 4:37.18 for a third-place finish. In the women's 1500m run open A, Whitney Valenti achieved a personal best of 4:27.53, securing 27th place. Caroline Mehlhorne also set a personal best of 4:35.74 in the same section. Elliot Pribramsky improved her time by three seconds, finishing at 4:33.39 and placing 16th.
In the men's 1500m, Shaw Powell finished 11th with a time of 3:55.78, while Connor Wingfield debuted with a time of 3:59.50. In the invite portion, Isaiah Givens achieved a season-best time of 3:41.59, finishing 30th, and Charles Welch set a personal best of 3:51.98, securing 37th place.
The next event for the Buffs will be the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., where multi-event athletes, fielders, and sprinters will compete from April 18-20.
