Host of Buffs Set to Compete at 2024 Olympic T&F Team Trials

Once again, the University of Colorado will be well represented at the United States Olympic Track and Field Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Six current Buffaloes and eight former student-athletes will compete at the USATF Olympic Trials.

Current Buffs representing the black and gold include:

  • Abbey Glynn (400m hurdles) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Avery McMullen (heptathlon) - Sunday, June 23 to Monday, June 24
  • Bailey Hertenstein (5,000 meters) - Round 1: Friday, June 21
  • Cole Romig (400m hurdles) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Jada Green (javelin) - Quarterfinals: Friday, June 28
  • Incoming freshman Scottie Vines (high jump) - Quarterfinals: Thursday, June 27

Former Buffs competing are:

  • Valerie Constien (steeplechase) - Round 1: Monday, June 24
  • Madison Boreman (steeplechase) - Round 1: Monday, June 24
  • Sage Hurta-Klecker (1,500m) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Dani Jones (1,500m) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Rachel McArthur (1,500m) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Sage Hurta-Klecker (800m) - Round 1: Friday, June 21
  • Abbey Nichols (5,000m) - Round 1: Friday, June 21
  • Micaela Degenero (1,500m) - Round 1: Thursday, June 27
  • Carrie Verdon (10,000m) - Saturday, June 29

Hertenstein and Nichols will kick it off for the Buffs on day one of the Olympic Trials, Friday, June 21, in the first round of the 5,000m run and Klecker in the 800m run.

Colorado has seven athletes with marks inside the top 10 heading into the trials:

  • Abbey Nichols (9)
  • Abbey Glynn (10)
  • Scottie Vines (10)

To qualify to represent the USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, from July 26-Aug. 11, an athlete must meet the qualifying standard and finish in the top three of their perspective event. Track and Field action will be aired live on NBC and affiliates. The full team USA roster for the Olympic Games will be confirmed in July.
