Buffs Conclude Outdoor Season with Three First-Team All-American Performances

EUGENE, Ore. – The Colorado women's track and field team finished strong on the final day of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.
The Buffs earned three first-team All-American honors and one second-team All-American honor.
Abbey Glynn started the day in a competitive field, finishing with a time of 55.75 for an eighth-place finish. Glynn ends her career with her seventh All-American honor and her second consecutive first-team All-American honor. She leaves Colorado holding several records, including the 400-meter hurdles (outdoor), 4x400 (indoor and outdoor), and 400 meters (indoor and outdoor). Glynn made seven NCAA appearances.
Avery McMullen wrapped up her career with an 11th-place finish in the heptathlon. She began the event with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 13.58, followed by a ninth-place finish with a personal-best jump of 1.75 meters. McMullen placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.19 to end the first day of the heptathlon. On the second day, she finished 11th with a score of 5,711 points, earning second-team All-American honors. McMullen totaled seven NCAA appearances and six All-American honors, holding seven CU records and 12 marks on CU's top-10 list. This season, she qualified for NCAA rounds in the pentathlon, heptathlon, long jump, 100-meter hurdles, and the 4x400 relay.
Colorado secured two first-team All-American honors in the 5,000 meters. Bailey Hertenstein and Ella Baran represented the Buffs, finishing third (15:10.98) and seventh (15:28.43), respectively, both achieving personal bests.
In her first season with the Buffs after a standout career at Indiana, Hertenstein won a Pac-12 Cross Country individual championship and a conference championship. Despite a late start this season, she won the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters at the Pac-12 Championship.
Baran, who joined the Buffs after an impressive career at Johns Hopkins, concludes her time at Colorado as a first-team All-American, collecting four All-American honors overall.
