Colorado Cross Country Heads to NCAA Mountain Regional Championships

BOULDER — Colorado's cross country teams continue their run through championship season as the Buffaloes travel west to Salt Lake City for the 2025 NCAA Mountain Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14, at the Regional Athletic Complex, hosted by the University of Utah.

The No. 17 Colorado women will race at 10:30 a.m. MT, followed by the No. 6 men's squad at 11:30 a.m. MT.

Last Time Out
The University of Colorado men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances Friday, Oct. 31, at the 2025 Allstate Big 12 Cross Country Championships at Rim Rock Farm, in Lawrence, Kan. The Buffaloes placed third in the men's race and fifth in the women's, both competing in one of the deepest conference fields in the nation.

Sophomore Dominic Serem led the Buffs, earning All-Big 12 honors with a ninth-place finish—his third consecutive top-10 performance this season. Jessie Secor paced the women's squad with a 22nd-place finish.
 
The Field
The field will features 19 men's and women's teams, competing for the NCAA Mountain Regional title. Both races will feature five nationally ranked teams.

NCAA Championship Qualification Breakdown
Division I Qualification Process
The top two teams from each of the nine regions automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, making up 18 total teams. Fourteen additional programs will be selected at large to complete the 32-team field. 38 individuals will earn spots through the automatic and at-large selection process, with the top four regional finishers not on qualifying teams also advancing to the national meet.

The men's team will look to make its 33rd consecutive trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championship. The 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships will take place Nov. 22 in Columbia, Missouri, at the Gans Creek XC Course.
