Buffs Best Vikings in Second Home Victory
November 16, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BOULDER – Colorado women's basketball (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) defeated Portland State (1-2, 0-0 Big Sky), 77-45, at the CU Events Center on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The Buffaloes established an early lead over the Vikings in the first quarter and extended the lead throughout the first half. The third quarter saw Colorado go up by 20 points, and the Vikings tried to battle back, but freshman forward Logyn Greer's career-high 19 points secured the win for the Buffs, 77-45.
"Great win," head coach JR Payne stated. "So many different people played. We rebounded incredibly well in the second half. Lots of different people scored. We had people playing totally out of position — playing in a position they've never played in and had no experience. Lots of good things in our ability to rest people a little, get everybody lots of minutes, and try some new things. Lots that we can learn, but also some good things to celebrate from the game."
Colorado had a higher field goal percentage (44.8%-36.4%) than Portland State. The Buffaloes had more rebounds (39-24), assists (13-7), steals (18-7) and blocks (4-2) than the Vikings.
