BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team (12-7, 3-4 Big 12) returns home to play Oklahoma State (16-4, 5-2 Big 12) on Jan. 25 at the CU Events Center at 1 p.m. MT. 
 
Former CU head coach Ceal Barry will be honored with the official dedication of the "Ceal Barry Plaza" before the game on Sunday. The dedication will consist of a short ceremony at noon at the plaza, which is located on the west side of the Events Center near the Buffalo statue. There will also be a recognition of Barry at halftime. 
 
The Buffs will face the Cowgirls for the second time in as many weeks on Sunday and the 57th time in program history. Colorado fell on the road to Oklahoma State earlier this month, 63-56, in a game CU led with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter (Jan. 11).
 
Last Sunday, the Buffs traveled to Orlando for a matchup with UCF and fell, 63-56 (Jan. 18). Four Buffs finished in double-digit points, with junior guard Desiree Wooten leading the charge off the bench with 15 points and two steals. Sophomore forward Tabitha Betson and junior guard Zyanna Walker each totaled 13 points, and senior forward Jade Masogayo had 12 points and seven rebounds. Before heading to Orlando, the Buffs registered their first ranked win of the season over then-No. 19 Iowa State, 68-62 (Jan. 8).
 
 
TIP-OFF (TL;DR)
  • CU is led by 10th-year head coach JR Payne, who has led the Buffs to a 176-123 (.587) record as CU's eighth head women's basketball coach. Coach Payne has been extended through the 2028 season and has led the Buffs to three NCAA appearances, two WNIT appearances and one WBIT appearance.
  • In its second year back in the Big 12, Colorado was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Colorado is 112-153 (.423) overall in Big 12 conference play.
  • With the re-addition of So. F Tabitha Betson to the 2025-26 roster, the Buffs return four from last year's team, also including Sr. F Jade Masogayo, So. G Kennedy Sanders and 5th C JoJo Nworie. Betson returns from a semester at home with her family after some time to recharge.
  • Colorado welcomes 10 newcomers for the 2025-26 season, five transfers and five freshmen. The five transfers include Jr. G Zyanna Walker (Kansas State), Jr. G Desiree Wooten (North Texas), Jr. G Claire O'Connor (Gonzaga), Jr. G Maeve McErlane (DePaul) and Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat (Rhode Island). The five freshmen include G Erianna Gooden (Fork Smith, Ark./Northside H.S.), C Jade Crook (Albury, Australia/Basketball Australia Center of Excellence/Lake Ginninderra College), G Isa Hämäläinen (Lorentzweiler, Luxembourg/European School of Luxembourg 1), F Logyn Greer (Lansdowne, Pa./Friends' Central School) and F Sophie Zadel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights H.S).
  • Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is third in conference for rebounds per game with 8.7, second for total rebounds with 166, and ties for leading the conference in total offensive rebounds with 72. She is also tied for 11th for steals per game (2.0). She had five rebounds and two steals at UCF (Jan. 18).
  • Jr. G Zyanna Walker is tied for fourth in conference for steals per game with 2.3. She is also 18th in the Big 12 for free-throw percentage (73.5%), tied for 20th for assists per game (3.0) and tied for 18th for assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Walker was one of four players in double figures against UCF, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals – her 11th game of the season with double-digit points.
  • Fr. F Logyn Greer is tied for 20th in conference for blocks per game with 0.8. Greer finished with nine points and one steal versus UCF (Jan. 18).
  • Jr. G Desiree Wooten is tied for 23rd for steals per game with 1.6. Wooten had her 13th game this season with double-digit points against the Knights, finishing with 15 (Jan. 18).
  • Sr. F Jade Masogayo is 25th in conference for blocks per game with 0.7. Jade had 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and one steal against the Knights (Jan. 18). This was her 11th game this season with double-digit points.
  • So. F Tabitha Betson recorded her first game of the season with double-digit points at UCF with 13 (Jan. 18). She also had seven rebounds, two steals and an assist.
  • As a team, the Buffs are third in the Big 12 for steals per game (10.84), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (14.1), sixth for rebounding margin (6.9), seventh for rebounds per game (38.9), seventh for scoring defense (60.4) and seventh for turnover margin (2.63).
  • CU will honor Colorado women's basketball's winningest head coach in program history, Ceal Barry, ahead of and during the Buffs' game against OSU.

MILESTONE WATCH:  Fr. C Jade Crook has 77 points, 23 away from 100. Fr. F Logyn Greer has 95 rebounds, five away from 100, and 185 points, 15 away from 200. Sr. F Jade Masogayo has 95 career steals, five away from 100, and 190 assists, 10 away from 200. Jr. G Maeve McErlane has 90 rebounds, 10 away from 100, and she has 184 points, 16 away from 200. Jr. G Desiree Wooten has 189 assists, 11 away from 200, and 787 points, 13 away from 800.
 
MILESTONE CHECK: So. F Tabitha Betson reached 200 career points against UCF (Jan. 18).
 
DOUBLE OR NOTHING: At Oklahoma State, Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat had her 10th career double-double and fourth of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds (Jan. 14). This was the Buffs' fifth double-double on the season.
 
ASSISTED BY: The Buffs have had double figures in assists in all but one game this season (vs. Wyoming, Dec. 7). CU has had 20 or more assists twice -- 20 versus Boise State (Nov. 18), and 20 against Arizona (Dec. 31). Colorado is averaging 14.5 assists per game as a team.
 
GIMME THAT!: Colorado has had 13 games this season with 10 or more steals as a team, averaging 10.8 steals per game.
 
FIGURE THAT: Four Buffs scored in double-figures against the Knights (Jan. 18), the 10th time this season CU has had four or more players with double-digit points. The Buffs are 7-3 in games where four or more players are in double-digits. Versus UCF, Jr. G Zyanna Walker had 13 points, Sr. F Jade Masogayo had 12, So. F Tabitha Betson had 13 and Jr. G Desiree Wooten had 15 points.
